Coaching Musicians: Goal Setting

Gaining speed and momentum in your life with goal setting will help propel you as you reinvent yourself-with short and long-term goals.”Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound.” This was the phrase coined by Jay Morton and first used in the Superman radio serials in the 1940’s. How fast are you moving? Do you feel like the sluggish tortoise in a world of hares passing you at breakneck speed? You may be moving forward, but ever so slowly. If you take the speed of Superman literally, a typical .22 bullet travels at seven hundred twenty mph.

Gaining speed and momentum in your life will help propel you as you reinvent yourself to move away from being stuck. This is done through goal setting, with small and large goals. Just like fire, momentum will build faster and faster because it will create its own wind force. Click below for links for long-term, short-term and goal setting worksheets!

Why Goals?

Start small then build with short & long term goals

“The greater danger for most of us isn’t that our aim is too high and miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.” Michelangelo

Create your own wind factor

Just as fire travels extremely fast uphill–creating its own wind, thoughtful and obtainable goal setting will create a strong wind factor for your life.

“Being there every week for my teammates is really important to me. It’s about accountability.” Peyton Manning, Denver Broncos

Just Start!

You can't finish unless you start!

“Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.” Thomas A. Edison
