DEBORAH JOHNSON

Inspiring Audiences Around the World with Music, Message and Media

“Deborah’s words touch the mind and her music touches the heart…”

Founder and CEO, DJWorks Music, Worthy Acts

Deborah’s drive to encourage and inspire her audiences has led to her writing and creating numerous projects, including albums, musicals and books.  She creates and performs with a deft ability at the piano and a vocal range that seems unending. Deborah’s natural ability flows not only out of her experience as an instructor at every level from elementary to graduate school, but from her passion to connect with her audiences with an effervescent, sparkling and candid personality. Because of this, her audiences walk away inspired, encouraged and motivated with messages they can easily apply and understand.

As an entertainer, she has toured the world and has been up for multiple Grammy Awards with her songs and albums. Deborah claims part of her ability is inherited from her grandmother who came over from Italy to play violin in Carnegie Hall when she was 16, then graduated from the New York Conservatory of Music in 1920, a landmark for a woman at that time.  Deborah has also been a music director for a large mega-church, coordinating multiple teams and writing numerous arrangements weekly. When she decided to get further studio experience, she built into her own music studio, which has served her well in writing and creating her multiple projects.

Deborah holds a Master’s Degree in Music Arranging and Composition and is the author of Stuck is Not a Four-Letter Word as well as the Inspirational Walking with the Hymns, a companion guide to one of her albums. She released the book Music for Kids in 2015, as she found a whole new generation was asking the same questions on why music education is so important. She has worked with numerous top agencies in the U.S., as well as Disney Entertainment. When appropriate, Deborah constantly strives to push the envelope of creativity by using media in her presentations, as she understands the growing importance of visual media in a society that is rapidly becoming more connected and electronic. Her most recent albums are The Hero Inside and Wayfarer’s Journey.

Deborah has won multiple awards, but she claims her biggest accomplishment is successfully raising and launching three sons. She understands intrinsically the challenges of young moms, raising three active boys four years apart. After completing graduate school, Deborah married Greg Johnson, a former professional baseball player and one of her favorite quotes is, “The conversation always comes back to baseball!” But Deborah, with a wink and smile, definitely hits it out of the park!
