Buy Sheet Music to What a Friend We Have in Jesus. It is a beautiful piano-based arrangement with 2-part vocal chorus. What a Friend We Have in Jesus, written by Joseph Scriven (1855) as a poem for his mother when she was facing a crisis. Joseph lost one fiancé who drowned the day before they were to be married, then lost yet another, Eliza, who died from tuberculosis before they could marry. His grave was arranged for his feet to be opposite of his lost love, Eliza, so they could arise facing one another.
This arrangement of What a Friend We Have in Jesus is for piano and 2-part vocal chorus. Simple rock ballad style, piano based and oohs and ahs in chorus to add color to the arrangement. There are three key changes and can be performed with or without vocals, medium difficulty.
